Lt Col Krueger recognized during CAP National Conference
Lieutenant Colonel Gerald Krueger has long been a member of Civil Air Patrol. Last week, his dedication and selfless service was recognized during the 2017 Civil Air Patrol National Conference.
At the conference, Krueger received national recognition as the Colonel Edwin W. Lewis, Jr. Incident Staff Member of the Year. This award recognizes a CAP member who has contributed significantly to the success of CAP’s emergency services and operational missions on the incident staff level. The award focuses on a member’s life-time contributions to the organization.
He developed an Emergency Services Tool Kit, used by all Wisconsin Incident Command staff. The kit provides not only the usual checklists, forms, and aids but also numerous other references, including phone directories, guidance on legal considerations, samples of good search and interview techniques, and instructions on how to operate two search programs used by CAP — Geospatial Information Interoperability Exploitation-Portable (GIIE-P) and Airborne Real-Time Cueing Hyperspectral Enhanced reconnaissance. He is the leading force behind the Wisconsin Wing’s Mission Base Staff & Communications Ground School Academies and has served as the CAP Incident Commander for Operation Patriot for three consecutive years. Through his leadership and mentoring abilities the Wisconsin Wing Emergency Services mission has continued to grow and evolve.
