Waukesha Squadron receives a new commander

The Waukesha Composite Squadron welcomed a new Squadron Commander April 14 during a Change of Command ceremony officiated by Lieutenant Colonel Dean Dolence, the Southeast Group Commander. During the ceremony, command of the unit transferred from First Lieutenant Robert Burnell to Major Scott Schuman.

Schuman joined the Waukesha unit in 2009. Since then he served as the unit’s Leadership Officer, Character Development Officer, and Deputy Commander of Cadets. Under his leadership the unit grew from 12 cadets to more than 40. Schuman stated, “I am excited to be a part of this program and look forward to building a team of people that can help to better serve the community as well as the members and cadets in Civil Air Patrol.”
