Timmerman cadet earns his solo wings
Cadet Second Lieutenant Alexander Ohde recently reached a major milestone in his long held dream of becoming a private pilot when he earned his solo wings. The solo flight marks a major milestone flight training and requires a student pilot to make three full stop landings on his own.
His primary Certified Flight Instructor was Captain Dirk Wilhelm of the Milwaukee Senior Support Squadron. Ohde began his training in April 2015, and plans to continue on to his Private Pilot’s Certificate. His love of flying began when his parents used to take him to the viewing area of Mitchell Field and he would watch the airliners take off and land.
Ohde joined CAP just over three years ago. In that time he has worked hard in the Cadet Program having earned his General Billy Mitchell Award and now his solo wings. His advice to younger cadets is to definitely take advantage of CAP’s flight training.
