Commander’s Corner: December
As 2015 draws to a close I want to reflect back through the year. We have accomplished many wonderful things through the time and efforts of so many of our members:
- More than 200 hour average on our aircraft
- Earned an additional aircraft
- Squadrons of excellence
- Increases in our Legislative squadron membership
- Overall membership increase in both senior and cadet members
- Increased exposure throughout the state supporting aerospace education
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your countless hours of work in making Wisconsin Wing the best wing in the nation.
It is also a time for us to show our appreciation to the members we serve who helped us achieve that success. A perfect opportunity to do this is through nominating another member for one of the many, “Of the Year” awards. Nominating someone doesn’t take much work, but the effort will surely make a difference in someone’s life.
Some will discount nominating someone, saying they don’t have a chance to win at the wing level, but nominating isn’t about winning; it is about showing appreciation and saying “thank you”. It tells a person that you appreciate them and the work they have done throughout the year. In a world where people can be taken for granted, what better way to end the year than by saying, “Thank you, you are appreciated.”
In Wisconsin Wing we sometimes think the work we do is just “normal”, and it is here, but it isn’t the norm around the nation. YOU are an OUTSTANDING WING, WISCONSIN!
From the proudest wing commander in the nation!
