Mission Pilot Proficiency Funding available now!
At the request of the national commander, proficiency mission 14-T-6376 has been established to encourage additional proficiency flying specifically for our mission pilots using the established Air Force Approved Proficiency Flight Profiles. These missions are limited to fully qualified mission pilots, not transport mission pilots, in order to ensure those pilots most critical to our mission operations have some funding to maintain basic mission pilot skills. We are expecting to receive enough funding to allow each of the wings qualified mission pilots to fly a proficiency sortie of approximately 1.5 hours. These funds can only be used to cover airplane fuel.
If you are interested in taking advantage of this funding you should contact the wing Director of Operations requesting that a sortie of 1.5 hours be established for your use. You should send this request to firstname.lastname@example.org .
The Director of Operations will review all requests to ensure that we have adequate funding to support your requests. It is expected that each mission pilot will be granted a request of 1.5 hours unless funding changes. The Director of Operations will notify you with an approval to create a sortie in WMIRS when your flight is approved.
Once you have been notified that your sortie has been approved you can use WMIRS to enter your sortie. If necessary you may subsequently change dates, flight release officer, profile, crew, aircraft, takeoff and landing airports and area of operation. Just do not change the expected duration of the sortie.
All sorties that have been approved must be completed before August 15, 2014. If the funding available for this mission has been exhausted before that time any open sorties will be cancelled. On August 15, 2014 the Director of Operations will review to determine if any funding is still available on this mission. If funding is still available all mission pilots will again be notified and this process will start again. At this time requests will be prioritized based primarily on corporate aircraft that are low in hours flown this fiscal year, and mission pilots who are low in hours flown this fiscal year.
If you have any questions regarding this opportunity or these procedures please contact me at email@example.com .
