Walco Composite Squadron gives back to fellow volunteer organization

LAKE GENEVA, Wis. – The Salvation Army’s bright red truck is often a fixture at missing person searches and disaster relief missions, offering warm food and hot coffee to Civil Air Patrol volunteers 24/7.  To show appreciation for their volunteers, Walco Composite Squadron, located in Elkhorn, Wis., has for the last 10 years spent the first Saturday following Thanksgiving Day, ringing the bells for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign.

Rain or shine, sleet or snow, Walco’s cadets and seniors man the kettles at both doors of the Walmart store in Lake Geneva from 9:00 am to 6:00 p.m.

The Lake Geneva Red Kettle Campaign is coordinated by Walco member Captain Bill Gehrmann and his wife, Georgia. If your Squadron would like to give back during this holiday season, contact Salvation Army field representative Angela Swinehart at (920) 980-7938.
