Quick response results in a find for local Watertown unit

On October 23 at 9:24 p.m., Wisconsin Wing duty officer Lieutenant Colonel Marcia Cunningham received a call from Air Force Rescue Coordination  Center (AFRCC) regarding a 121.5 emergency locator transmission (ELT) coming from the Watertown area.

Due to dense fog, Civil Air Patrol aircraft were not able to be launched.  The Colonel R.C. Jaye Memorial Composite Squadron ground team, located in Watertown, quickly responded.  In less than three hours time they were able to locate and silence the ELT at the Watertown Municipal Airport.  The mission was closed at 12:11 a.m. on October 24.
