La Crosse Composite Squadron’s Open House to include F-16 simulator and State Rep. Jill Billings
La Crosse, Wis. – The public, as well as Civil Air Patrol members are cordially invited to attend the La Crosse Composite Squadron’s Open House and Fly-In on Saturday, September 15 at the La Crosse Municipal Airport located at 2906 Fanta Reed Road from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The event will feature a fly-in lunch; though you don’t have to fly in order to eat! Hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, the fixings with sides will be available for purchase as a fundraiser to support the squadron.
Other highlights of the day include:
- Come experience La Crosse Squadron’s one-of-a-kind F-16 simulator. It will be set up and running all day!
- Major Dave Snyder will be directing a number of hands-on aerospace education activities
- You will have the chance to see Major Todd Mandel, Cadet Majors Michael Ebert and Kevin Felix all take a whip cream pie in the face. Why you ask? The cadets of the squadron rose to the 90-day promotion challenge and it’s time we “paid the piper.”
- At 10:30 a.m., Representative Jill Billings, Assemblywoman from the 94th Assembly District, will present Cadet 2nd Lieutenant Michael Cunningham with the General Billy Mitchell Award.
RSVP is not required. Uniform of the day for CAP members is corporate or blues. Flight suits for aircrews flying in are acceptable too. For the general public, casual attire is appropriate. We would be happy to see you and share with you what Civil Air Patrol is all about.
