Blueberry Muffin and Captain Cornelius helps spread the name of Civil Air Patrol
Janesville, Wis. – Members from Civil Air Patrol’s Rock County Composite Squadron participated in the Janesville Police Department’s National Night Out on Tuesday evening.
The combination CAP information and Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) booth gave the squadron an excellent opportunity to interact with the crowd estimated at 2,000 people.
Squadron members were assisted by a walking blueberry muffin that drew a crowd by visiting the booth and Captain Cornelius; a two foot tall talking monkey doll clad in a space suit and owned by Lieutenant Colonel Larry Ochowski.
This year’s crowd appeared extremely interested in what CAP has to offer in cadet programs, aerospace education and emergency services. A large number of brochures and toy airplanes were handed out to those who visited the booth.
Six squadron members, Lt. Col. Larry Ochowski, Major David Deiler, Senior Member Lad Vrany, Cadet 1st Lieutenant Cody Alexander, Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Jacob Papcke and Cadet Airman Michael Moore participated in this event.
