Civil Air Patrol to Hold Flag Retirement Ceremony in Eau Claire

Eau Claire, Wis. –Wisconsin Wing Civil Air Patrol’s Northwest Group will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony on July 4 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Carson Park in Eau Claire.

First Lieutenant Pete Hestekin will be assisted by Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Andrea Miara and Second Lieutenant Patricia Miara from the Eau Claire Composite Squadron.

Hestekin will speak about the importance of the flag along with the meaning of each stripe and star.  The public is invited to participate in this meaningful event to help remember what the 4th of July is about and to properly retire worn American flags.
