DR. JEFF MONTGOMERY – CAP Deputy Director, Aerospace Education
Presenting: National Headquarters Update
Dr. Jeff Montgomery is the Deputy Director, Aerospace Education at Civil Air Patrol National Headquarters, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. In this role, Dr. Montgomery leads the planning, development, and implementation of the CAP Aerospace Education Program. This includes the curriculum and product development of all aerospace education programs. In addition, Dr. Montgomery assists the Director, Educational Programs, in providing management and guidance in all elements of the aerospace program.
Dr. Montgomery began his involvement with CAP in 1995 when he became an Aerospace Program Manager at CAP National Headquarters. In this role, he developed several curriculum products that are still being used today throughout CAP and in the classrooms of America.
He was also the lead author of Aerospace: The Journey of Flight and Aerospace Dimensions, which are the foundational aerospace education products for CAP members. Dr. Montgomery became the Chief, Aerospace Education and later the Deputy Director.
Dr. Montgomery was born in Ohio and raised in Washington Court House, Ohio. He graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in social studies and a master’s degree in educational psychology and counseling. He received his doctoral degree in education from Auburn University. He resides in Montgomery, Alabama, with his wife Laura. They have three children.
